Remarkable WORKS

This is the new NETWORKING SITE of our new Charlotte Marketing Chapter...(more to come)
For now: Any business, any product, any market, gets better when you get better with your IDEAS and IMPLEMENTATION! Remarkable marketing is when message, market, delivery, and systems all come together for REMARKABLE RESULTS in profits and growth. McDonald's is a great example. Even though most people can make a better hamburger than McDonald's...they still make more money than you! Because they gave up on the HAMBURGER a long time ago.

The real reason most individuals are broke or under-performing when it comes to PROFITS is that they're still focused on making hamburgers...and McDonald's is focused on driving a billion of them into the marketplace again this week. They're EXCELLENT at BUSINESS SYSTEMS! Big clue in this NOW ECONOMY. One of my mastermind members/client is a retailer who no longer depends on just walk in traffic or sales that come through the front door to change his success or lack of it.

Welcome to Atlantic City...

Ah yes, the famous Boardwalk at the Jersey shore. I'm here speaking at the Great Nor'easter event for the Pennsylvania IADA and all the Captains of Enterprise in attendance. It's amazing to see the shear NUMBERS of people here. Driving, checking in, eating out, on the Boardwalk, at the Borgata, in the stores...
I just wanted to ask them if they've heard about the terrible economy on CNN...cause they're obviously not paying attention.

The evidence is overwhelming and everywhere.
I literally have not been able to eat in any of the 7 restaurants in my hotel here because whenever I'm ready to eat (and not at the conventional lunch/dinner times) the line is so LONG...

When Indiana Jones' new movie came out (after Indy taking 20 years off) it captured revenues of over $200 million in the first 10 days. Here's a revelation you won't hear on CNN, the marketplace HAS THE MONEY! If you've got the right value proposition they can write the check. But not for boring, same-old-same-old, surplus stuff they can get anywhere...if there's nothing very special about what you do or how you do it, then it becomes all about the PRICE. And how low can the buyer get you to go, or how easy it is to go someplace else.
Make the customers life easier, or provide incentives, or increase your value, or the value they place on your experience and they'll bring the money to your "show." End of lesson.
Now if I could just find a spot at a Blackjack table somewhere...

Growing The LIST of EXCUSES...

Once in awhile I just get in the mood for a real RANT on all the WHINING I hear as I go out into the marketplace daily...Ever pay attention to people around you, especially BUSINESS people, salespeople, even someone in an ownership or leadership position and their LIST OF EXCUSES for why things aren't going well, or going better or getting more PROFITABLE?

It's like someone's assigned them as homework "The List of Excuses." And the top 2 or 3 may vary from time to time but there are the long-time-favorites on the list as well. Number 1 with a bullet right now of course is gas prices. Followed by the stock market, the government, the president, the congress, the governor (numerous LOCAL blame lists), taxes too high, believe it or not I just heard someone say the reason they weren't doing much business that day is because of "tax free day."

Then of course schools in/schools out, election year, vacation, too hot/too cold, too rainy/drought...the list is LONG. The real problem with most people's BLAME LIST is that they're not on it! The challenge for you and me is to get better. As one of my long-time teacher's Mr. Rohn says, "Don't wish it were EASIER, wish you were better." Or I might add, stop wishing PERIOD and decide that you will get better, get smarter, get ideas, become remarkable in the way you sell it, serve it, deliver it, package it, buy it, or give it away (yep, you should give something away...it's called a FREE SAMPLE). Pullleeeze...

The next time you find yourself at a Broadway show, Las Vegas, Disneyworld, in line for your made-just-for-you-cuppa-Joe at Starbucks, passing a Harley dealership, on eBay, dining at your favorite PACKED restaurant, or just enjoying one of the many freedoms, liberties, or pleasures that are all-too-available in your town and mine...STOP!

And give thanks for the amazing opportunity that you and I have in America TODAY.

If we can't STOP all the blaming and whining, at least we can stop listening to it...To Be Continued.

Happy INDEPENDENCE Day (right?)

July 4th...what does that make you think of?
If you haven't seen the HBO special on John Adams do yourself a favor and watch the first few episodes of that miniseries. What a powerful reminder of the sacrifices men and women made for our freedoms over 200 years ago. Seems we hear a lot of talk today about the AMERICAN ECONOMY...(you've probably heard how bad it is) yet what I don't hear a lot about in this country is the AMERICAN OPPORTUNITY that we all have.

I have a friend who speaks and travels around the world, he's from India and he told me once, "Michael, if you can't make it in AMERICA...Don't PACK! Where would you go?" How true. I mean if you're down on America, what's next? You think someone's gonna save you or your house or your business? You think that's what those patriots were thinking when they were risking their very existence in their fight for freedom and OPPORTUNITY. That pursuit of happiness we hear about on occasion...
So today, Let Freedom Ring and let's be thankful for the OPPORTUNITY that you and I have NOW in America.

National CARSTARS and The BIG SHOW!


The Gaylord Texan Resort...this weekend home to a collection of CARSTARS and some of the Top Auto Dealers in the nation all gathered for the big ACADEMY AWARDS of the Car Business called the National Quality Dealer of the Year Awards. For the 6th consecutive year I'll be mastering the cermonies here and interviewing each of the state nominees for the big hardware.

This is always a huge event and I get to meet some of the most fascinating Captains of Enterprise and hear all their stories and struggles and victories. It's inspiring, not just to those in the audience (and me of course) but to all those thousands who will be watching the show long after we're finished with the festivities here.

Marketing Legend Names "NO BS" Advisor to Charlotte!



It's official...I'm a certified business advisor! I've been consulting and speaking and various other types of provoking and advising but now I'm CERTIFIED in the "NO BS" variety of advising. Thanks to Bill Glazer, Dan Kennedy, and all the marketing minds, masterminds, and members that make up GKIC Insider's Circle, today I became the official "certified" NO BS Business Advisor for the Charlotte, NC area (my home field marketplace).

Along with Lane Ostrow and Michael Crowder (friends and business associates here in Charlotte) we'll be the purveyors of all that is Glazer-Kennedy when it comes to RADICAL GROWTH and MILLION DOLLAR MARKETING IDEAS! We're excited to have this opportunity and to be working with the Legendary Dan Kennedy on yet another project. More to come...

On The Beach...Again!

I love the road. I love the travel and the seeing new places, meeting new people, but I also love it when the road ends. Cause that means I'm at the beach. The beaches of the Carolinas are varied and amazing, each with an appeal and uncommon look and feel all their own. From the Outer Banks (you know that's where you see the Weather Channel broadcasting from LIVE whenever there's a coastal storm) to Wrightsville (near Wilmington, NC) to private and quiet Ocean Isle and Holden Beaches, down to Myrtle and all parts south.

Nothing like a little sand and some crashing waves to unload a bit of those pressures we all deal with daily. Some cliches' are true I've found, like all work and no play making you DULL...keep your tools, and your mind, SHARP. Here's hoping you're close to a beach or at least a place almost like it...very SOON. Ahhhhhh...

Change or DIE...

That's the title of my opening keynote for over a thousand automotive dealers and leaders here in Fabulous Las Vegas. The message is actually based on information from the medical community that says even when an individual is faced with impending DEATH from poor health habits that they must change if they want to prolong LIFE...studies confirm that less than 10% will actually CHANGE! Wow...how much more is that true in the marketplace? That faced with the changing economic conditions MOST businesses and individuals continue doing the same old things, not changing and somehow expressing shock (or BLAME) when the changing marketplace passes them by to spend their money somewhere else. CHANGE OR DIE! Interesting...

Also while I'm here the very first WINNERS CIRCLE coaching call LIVE from the Las Vegas Hilton. Gotta' love it. How we still have the opportunity today to basically create a business from zero, pour yourself into it and watch it take off. It still amazes me, and it happens every day in America!

Dan Kennedy's 10 BIG Business Breakthroughs

Its BONUS DAY at The Superconference. Dan is in championship form and most certainly in his element in front of around a thousand or so marketing maestros, members, entrepreneurs, and curious newcomers to the Kennedy marketing message. A number of GKIC members have passed across the platform to share how they implemented the PHENOMENON in their businesses, and we got to see some big names like George Ross and Kristi Frank from Trump's Apprentice TV show as well as KISS (and MARKETING) LEGEND Gene Simmons.
Gene was just as cool in person as on stage or TV and gave an inspiring message about the opportunity in America for any entrepreneur, something many people need to be reminded of outside of this giant hotel.


This is one of the events I attend during the year, not as a speaker, but as a student of business and marketing big ideas that generate BIG PROFITS in ANY ECONOMY!
