Opportunity, America, and the "Terrible Economy" in Tucson...

My first time in Tucson and I'm excited to be here. At home its our little window of winter in Charlotte, but sunny and warm here in the desert. Its amazing the differences between the Phoenix/Scottsdale area where it looks a bit like a "metropolitan" desert (you know well-kept and strategically manicured grass) and here, what I describe as "scrubby." And I mean it with a fondness for the natural, much like my own back yard (rustic and raw...me and the birds and squirrels like it that way). Its that old west look with progress mixed in. I'm speaking to a member organization here representing some of the biggest and best companies leaders and CEOs and with this group, I was amazed to see and hear how all the talk about the terrible economy affects even the best and brightest sometimes.

Understand this one thing...if you live in America, how can you be DOWN on the ECONOMY? As my friend Kresh (from India) says, "If you can't make it in America...DON'T PACK! Where will you go next?"

This is the place the entire world wants to play and here you are! With all the "pending-recession-doom-and-gloom" should you happen to find yourself at Disney World, in Las Vegas, at Trump's place in New York, passing a Harley dealership, buying a cuppa-joe here in Tucson, or any number of other EMOTIONAL profit-producing experiences that are going on RIGHT NOW...stop for just a moment and think about the AMAZING OPPORTUNITY you and I have in America...TODAY!
