At The Fabulous Stardust...

It's the National Association of Broadcasters convention here in Las Vegas. Big events all over town and mine's the International Media Users Group here at the Stardust. The Media Motion Ball (just sounds like fun doesnt' it?) will be here tonight and I'm kicking it off.
One of the guys asked me if it's a keynote, workshop, how would I describe it? Let's just say "I'm appearing LIVE at The Fabulous Stardust!" Can't help but think about Wayne Newton, Elvis, and all the others who've appeared here...and now ME, just squeaking in under the wire before another landmark casino and hotel is blown up so a new one can rise on the Vegas strip's skyline.
If your business closed tomorrow, would anyone notice...or care?
The Stardust will be missed in Vegas.

The Uncommon Conference

Dateline: Galveston Island, Texas
Michael York reporting from the beach (or at least from the seawall)...I can see the ocean from my room on the 15th floor.
I'm here to deliver the closing keynote at the Texas Credit Union League's annual meeting which is spreading the UNCOMMON message along with yours truly. The theme of the event is UNCOMMON '06...very cool. Uncompromising Leadership, Unsinkable Determination, and lots more UNcommon-ness everywhere.
We arrived a day early to do some shooting on a couple of video projects...and to hang out by the pool (practice slowing) at the beautiful San Luis resort. The event turns out to be a big success (Thanks Tonya) and now it's on to Fabulous Las Vegas.

The Good Samaritan...

Today is a volunteering day for a great cause. I attended the Samaritan's Feet Walk in my town to help support my friend Manny Ohonme and his ministry. Lot's of sports celebs were on hand, TV and media, and loads of walkers raising money in support of a BIG GOAL!
Manny's mission?
To put 10 million pairs of shoes on 10 million kids around the world in the next 10 years.
You can find out more about it and even see a slide show of the event at www.samaritansfeet.org

What great cause are you involved in?
Volunteer your time (and yes your money) for some special project, mission, or cause in your community, or around the world. It's the commitment to "giving" that makes us bigger than we are.
